When you're knee-high to an ant, the backyard is the whole world. A berry is a feast. A blade of grass is a tree. A bottle cap is a landmark, and every beetle is a boulder that might decide to move.
This is Cordy: a sprout of a hero with a crown of cordyceps for hair, alone in a yard built for giants. Everything out here is bigger, hungrier and in no mood for company. But win a bug over and it will follow you anywhere — and some of them will let you ride.
Make friends ten times your size

🐜 The ant
Your first friend, and the hardest worker in the yard. Hold out a berry and see who stops to look. Ants forage, haul what you never could, and brew strange things in their bags: dew, spores, and a serum that brings a fallen friend back.

🕷️ The jumping spider
Twitchy, sharp-eyed and far too quick to lure. It takes a snare and a little cunning. Win one over and it clears the crack in a single bound, spinning silk lines the rest of your swarm can cross.

🪲 The beetle
The yard's walking boulder. Slow to trust, impossible to stop: once it's yours, charge, and clods shatter and stones roll out of your way. It farms its own fungus. It spits, too.

✨ The firefly
It drifts out at dusk to the puddles, and it can't resist fungus dew. Ask it to stay and its glow becomes a camp: the one place the night can't reach you. Underground, it's the only light you'll have.

🌘 The wolf spider
The night belongs to them, and every night there's one more. Face one from the saddle, or try the unthinkable: catch it, calm it, and ride the fastest thing in the yard, with its venom on your side.

Days to gather, nights to survive

The bushes hang heavy with berries and the wild bugs are out wandering. Gather, brew, and make some very large friends.

🌙 Night
The wolf spiders leave their den. Ride out to meet them — or find a firefly, curl up in its glow, and sleep until morning.

A whole world under the grass
|
🌼 The meadow
Berry bushes and giant mushrooms, a crack that rings a hidden grove, a bottle cap half-sunk in the grass — and at the end of the path, the colony's mound.

🕳️ The anthill
Down the hole on the mound, the colony's halls wind deep into the dark: stones for a beetle to charge, gaps for a spider to silk, a lift to get working. Bring a firefly.

Your swarm, your way
Everything you need rides on your back: gather it, eat it, and turn it into saddles, snares and tonics wherever you stand. Call your bugs and they come running, to follow, wait, forage or fight. Shrink the whole swarm into your pocket and grow them back when you need them. And when the colony has odd jobs going, the pay is bug serum: room for one more friend.
